Imagine our surprise when on a regular day trip to Sumilon Island in December, Atmosphere staff and guests came across not just one but five whale sharks! When the excited text messages started to come in to the resort, we first thought that our boat crew was pulling our legs. We have been several times since and it has been a delight for both guests and staff to snorkel with these big gentle animals. Atmosphere has chosen to adapt to WWF recommendations regarding whale shark interaction. This means No touching, No scuba diving and No flash photography. We hope they will stick around for a while!
